The 55th annual Rhododendron and Azalea Flower Show will be Saturday and Sunday at the N.C. Arboretum.

“Come one, come all,” said Glenn O’Sheal, Flower Show chairman and board member of the Southeastern Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, which organizes the show. “Bring your friends and neighbors. It’s beautiful and its fun.”

The judged show, featuring hundreds of cut rhododendron trusses and azalea sprays as well as arrangements and new hybrid blooms, is open noon-5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday in the arboretum’s Education Center.

Anyone can exhibit, member or not. To enter a truss or spray, bring it to the Education Center from 8-9 a.m. Saturday. Standard vases are provided.

At the show, a table with rhododendron growing information will be in the lobby of the Education Center staffed by members of the society.
